Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026. JSON Editor Pro is operated by Nivo Apps(“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data is and isn’t collected when you use jsoneditor.nivoapps.com.
Your JSON documents never leave your browser
The editor, formatter, validator, diff/compare engine, and every converter on this site run entirely client-side, in your browser’s JavaScript engine. Whatever you paste, type, or drop into a tool — and every tab and workspace you create — is stored only on your own device, in IndexedDB (with a localStorage-safe fallback), and is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no server-side database of user content and no technical ability to see what you edit.
Cookies and your choices
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. If you reject them, analytics and advertising cookies are not set, and Google’s Consent Mode signals (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) are all set to “denied”. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so you aren’t asked again on the same device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this domain, which shows the banner again.
Analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage — which tools are used, how often, and general performance. We deliberately never send it any document content, file names, or search queries; only structural counts and flags (for example, that a format-and-copy action happened, not what was formatted). See Google’s Privacy Policy for how it handles this data.
Advertising
This site is partly supported by ads served through Google AdSense. If you accept advertising cookies, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by rejecting cookies in our banner, or manage Google’s ad personalization directly at Google Ads Settings. More detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at How Google uses information from sites that use our services. Ads never have access to your JSON documents — they load in an isolated frame with no connection to the editor’s content.
Feedback form
If you submit the in-app feedback form, the message text, the category you picked, and — only if you choose to enter one — an email address are sent to our backend so we can read and respond to it. This is the only feature on the site that sends anything you type to a server. We use it solely to review and respond to feedback, and don’t use it for marketing.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
